Invitation to apply for RezArt Gjirokastra 2016

Call for Artists: Residency in Gjirokastra, a fairy-tale-like town in the mountains of Southern Albania, the birth place of the famous Albanian writer Ismail Kadare!
Open Doors Center supported by the Albanian Ministry of Culture is pleased to announce the artist residency; RezArt Gjirokastra 2016 - Inspiration from Ismail Kadare’s pen to be held from 28th September – 1st October 2016 in the mediaeval city of Gjirokastra, a UNESCO site as "a rare example of a well-preserved Ottoman town”. Open Doors is a nonprofit organization currently functioning without any external financing.

Invitation to the National Fair of Cultural Heritage and Artisanship in Gjirokastra

Gjirokastra Municipality, Gjirokastra Conservation and Development Organization and “Miqësia” association will organize the National Fair of Cultural Heritage and Artisanship from 27th to 29th of September 2008.
We invite to participate in this Fair and promote art and tradition of your area!
Artisans from Gjirokastra, its region and all over Albania will participate including guests from Kosovo and Macedonia. A variety of handmade products will be on display while a lot of other activities will be held along the Fair. For three days, Gjirokastra will become a center of festivities, attended by Gjirokastra citizens and guests.

Employment announcement

The GJIROKASTRA CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (GCDO) an Albanian NGO supported by Packard Humanities Institute, is announcing 3 vacant positions for architect-restorer traines to work for the “Gjirokastra 2008-2011“.

An initial six candidates will work part-time in a probationary period of two months (September and October 2008), after which 3 profesionals will be selected. The succesful candidates will be working in the UNESCO World Heritage Town of Gjirokastra on a full time basis from November 2008 until 2011.
